Mayur Shukla/Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has announced the state women’s team for the Senior Women’s Cricket Trophy of the BCCI. Five players from the capital Lucknow have got a place in the team. Apart from this, three players have been selected from Agra, two each from Saharanpur and Prayagraj. The first match of the UP team is against Karnataka on 31 October. This match will be played in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The leadership of the team has been entrusted to Muskan (Captain) of Aligarh. Moradabad’s wicketkeeper Shweta Verma has been selected as the vice-captain. On the other hand, Shilpi Yadav of Lucknow, Kajal, Sonali Singh, Arju Singh, Ayushi Srivastava, Anju Rani of Moradabad, Kanojia, Singh and Tanu Kala of Agra, Nishu Chaudhary and Varnika Chaudhary of Saharanpur, Neetu Gaur and Shipra Giri of Prayagraj, Ghaziabad. Ki Shikha, Sonam Yadav of Firozabad, Bhoomi of Meerut have also got a place in the team.
