CM Khattar was addressing as chief guest a large number of alumni who had joined physically and online from more than 21 countries on the occasion of KU’s Alumni Meet “Pratismriti: Alumni Reunion 2021” organized by the KU Alumni Association (KUKKA) on Thursday.
Khattar said that Alumni of an institution are like the charioteers who will guide and lead the development and growth of an institution. He said since its inception in 1956, Kurukshetra University has set new records in every field including education, research, sports, cultural activities, and social service in the last 65 years. Alumni have played an important role in this achievement.
KU has played an important role in making education accessible to all sections and areas in the state of Haryana and also in the entire country. The credit for this goes to the very large and illustrious alumni of KU and the teachers, officers, and staff, and students of the university added the CM.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal also released a souvenir of the KU Alumni Association. He also inaugurated a Multipurpose Sports Hall of KU and launched the KG-to-PG scheme under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the university. Along with this, he also launched an online certificate course in the Japanese language, BBA Honors and M Tech Defense Technology to be offered during the academic session 2021-22. He also launched a Jingle for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. It was here when the Haryana CM announced that he will be the first student to take admission in an online certificate course in the Japanese language.
CM Khattar called upon all the alumni of KU to play a leading role in the growth of their alma mater and also the state of Haryana.
He said that it is a matter of pride that KU’s foundation stone was laid by the first President of India, Shri Rajendra Prasad on January 11, 1957. The history of this vast temple of education is incomparable in itself. In this journey, this university has played a leading role in empowering through education the rural youth, women, exploited, and deprived sections of society. Over time, KU has made its mark nationally and internationally as a multidisciplinary institution. By becoming the first A-plus grade university of Haryana, KU has got a distinction in the state and the country said Haryana CM.
KU vice-chancellor, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva thanked the Governor of Haryana-cum-chancellor of KU Bandaru Dattatreya for the blessings extended through his message.
Prof Som Nath said that alumni are our invaluable heritage. KU was established in 1956 as a Sanskrit University. With the passage of time, Kurukshetra University has made its mark nationally and internationally as a multidisciplinary institution. By becoming the first A-plus grade university of Haryana, KU has got a reputation in the state of Haryana and the entire country. Our alumni are the flag bearers of KU at the national and international levels. We are proud of our alumni. Old students play an important role in the development and quality promotion of any institution.
President and dean of academic affairs of KU Alumni Association Prof Manjula Choudhary talked about the Alumni Association. She said that it is the priority of Kurukshetra University to give a platform to the old students. Together with the cooperation of the alumni, we can contribute continuously to the all-around development of the university.
Director of KU Alumni Association, Prof Anil Mittal thanked Haryana CM for all the distinguished guests, alumni, media persons, and alumni connected online from the country and abroad.
On this occasion, a large number of illustrious alumni and KU, as well as officials of other universities, joined in the offline and online modes of this function.
